After a lot of consideration i have decided to choose places and spaces as my theme for my exam, this is because after looking through all of the other themes, the photographers that also do theme of places and spaces, i liked their photographs more than i liked any of the other photographs, it was also because my strongest point is landscapes, the style is what i most enjoy and is the best equipped for the area i live in and the areas i can travel to as their are lot's of tall buildings good views, and styles that i have already done well that i can use to put towards my final exam.
Sebastian Weiss
Sebastian Weiss takes his images in a very particular style, by positioning his camera at eye level and he take this image at a upward trajectory, more commonly at tall buildings, but mainly tall buildings with layers, he looks for specific architecture, that isn't just straight and plain, he looks for buildings with uniqueness, height, depth in the architecture. Which makes his images seem repetitive. He also frequently uses a black and white filter on his images which gives his photos greater tone, by not using colour it makes the true subject of the work, be the focus of the image.

Single image evaluation
For this image from Sebastian Weiss's Monolicious, which is a project of his where he takes images of skyscrapers, which he takes at eye level, almost like you yourself the viewer is looking up at this towering skyscraper, what is also interesting is the buildings he takes photos of, it is the same pattern going up, this creates a interesting image, and helps us admire the skyscraper usually it would be overlooked the repeating elements enhance the photograph. The image is also taken in black and white which makes the main focus the skyscraper because there is no colour to focus on only the lines and tone.
Weiss response
For these images I was inspired by Sebastian Weiss's up close, upward trajectory of his photos so when I went out to take the images i did a mix of tall high rise modern buildings in big cities, and shorter blocks and houses in more suburban areas, I attempted to be similar to Weiss through the trajectory of his images, I attempted to take images of a variety of buildings, but as i develop my images I think I will
Experiment 1
For my first experiment i used Photopea to overlap images, i did this through the use of the multiply filter, which made the images transparent but still visible this added some extra tone and texture to the images especially when combined with the appropriate image eg: a towering city and a transparent image of a garden is the perfect combination.
Experiment 2
For my second experiment I decided to not combine my photos, but I also wanted to fit multiple images in the same photo, so I decided to use Photopea and split my images into 3 separate sections, I decided to do this because I wanted to try a different route than my original experiment. Whilst also sticking with the same theme as Sebastian Weiss.
Second shoot
For this setting of photos I experimented by taking images of completely different buildings and then filtering the images into a wide range of colours and tones, which is the factor that separates these images from my first shoot. I attempted to combine a few images to really give them some variation, to make the photograph more exciting, but whilst still keeping the theme of positioning the camera eye level facing upwards at colossal structures. I attempted to keep the theme that Sebastian Weiss uses, whilst also changing the colour to black and white, and taking the images at different angles than my first set of images i took to really add variation to the images.
Experiment 3
For this Experiment I decided to utilise my photoshop skills and aim to stick to my theme of combining images, but instead editing them in a more aesthetically pleasing way by also changing the color of the images through various filtres and
Third shoot
For this homework I attempted to take images at twighlight and of tall building to get that tone and texture of the office lights, and that infinity kind of feel to the images like Sebastian Weiss has, I also experimented and did a few images of windows reflecting onto the skyline, which made a really nice images because of the sharpness of the lines on the windows, and the dullness of the skyline behind it.

Third shoot
For these images I attempted to add some variation, for one I decided to stick to theme of Sebastian Weiss (bottom right) by creating that angle of looking up towards the skyscraper.
However I also attempted with the other 5 images to flip Weiss's idea and put my own twist the images, I did this by travelling up to a high building and positioning my cameral in a straight on or a downward trajectory onto buildings. I did this because, I could include a greater volume of buildings in my images, to add more excitement and variation to my images.

Refined third shoot
For my third shoot I tried to use canva as a way of lighting up the images, putting life into them. I did this through various filters and trial and error.
Concertina book
For my concertina book i decided to develop my idea, mainly through trial and error, i decided to use the skills and images that I had done from the images i made in photoshop and develop them into the slides, and I could see vividly which images I was happy with and I used both of my experiments to help me build the foundation for my concertina book. I also found out that I prefer to take the images in portrait rather than landscape, I developed on all of the these experiments by producing an outcome, where on my concertina book, all of the images are in portrait, and I had the idea of a parallel on each page of the book two of the same image except, each image is edited differently, (A skill that I took from my photoshopped images) almost creating a polarity. For example one side being black and white the other filled with vibrant colour. Or one side being edited and the other side left in it's original state.
